LeBron James claimed that his kid Bronny is “absolutely better” than certain active NBA players

Lebron on Bronny james

Watching the NBA on Monday, James was quite social on Twitter.

For LeBron James, basketball is always on his mind. You have to be a basketball fanatic to achieve his level of success in the NBA, and while he has missed the last four games for the Los Angeles Lakers due to a foot injury, he has been doing what the rest of us have been doing: watching League Pass. He tweeted on Monday that he was watching games, so either he wasn’t pleased or he has a lot of faith in his son, who is 18 at the time. Alternatively, both.

“Man Bronny certainly better than some of these cats I’ve been seeing on league pass today,” James wrote on Twitter. “You’re a f***ing lightweight, but that’s funny His final phrase was followed by four smiling faces.

James doesn’t expect to be taken seriously, but we can’t help but wonder: who are these “lightweights” he keeps alluding to? Listed below are several hypotheses:

  • Williams, Grant. On Monday, the Boston Celtics’ teenage forward was seen on video confidently predicting that his team will win the game from the free throw line despite facing an uphill battle against the Cleveland Cavaliers. He was unable to convert either, as Cleveland went on to win in extra time.
  • Mr. Scott Foster. Foster, who is not technically a player, was the subject of online mockery following Monday’s NBA game between the Denver Nuggets and Toronto Raptors after the controversial official ejected Raptors forward Scottie Barnes with 28.6 seconds remaining in a one-point game for apparently complaining about a call.
  • Every member of the New Orleans Pelicans squad. Five of the night’s six games were decided by six points or fewer, but the New Orleans Pelicans, who were vying with the Los Angeles Lakers for a play-in berth, lost to the Sacramento Kings by 15 points after falling down by as much as 24 points.

James has just made it a little easier for whoever he means to attack his son. As Bronny is still a high school student at Sierra Canyon, he will have to wait until the 2024–25 season to enter the NBA. Recently, ESPN’s Jonathan Givony has projected him as a top-10 pick due to his meteoric rise on the boards. Even though LeBron has made it obvious that he wants to play with his son Bronny when he enters the NBA, tweets like these might come back to haunt them both if Bronny has an unimpressive rookie season.
